In 2026 there were significant changes that affected everyone who purchases their health insurance in the individual market. The same will be true for Open Enrollment 2027. These changes may affect your health insurance eligibility, your costs, and your eligibility for financial assistance. These changes apply to years 2026 and beyond. These changes are a result of legislative action and regulatory updates.

1. I receive financial assistance to help with my monthly payments.

2. You individually or your family has an income between $62,600 and $216,600.

3. You or a family member is a DACA recipient.

4. You are a Permanent Resident Green Card holder or a Work Permit holder with income who individually or as a family earn between $15,650 and $54,150.

5. You have not filed your current year’s taxes.

6. You or your household receive financial assistance and have an income between $15,650 and $81,225

7. You and your family use the Marketplace to obtain health insurance

8. You are currently enrolled in a Marketplace plan and plan to continue coverage in 2026.

9. You or a family member is over 30 years old.

10. You or a family member is on Medicaid and you live in the state of Maryland.

11. Your job offers you an ICHRA
